Ever felt like you're running on empty, juggling two jobs and still not getting anywhere? That was me—
Hi everyone, my name is Trissa and I started Gone to Pottery Ceramics because I was burned out from healthcare jobs that were draining my energy and passion. I was working two jobs, seven days and nights a week. Then something magical happened: my grandmother, who had been nudging me for years, finally convinced me to dive into the world of ceramics.
I had never really considered ceramics before, but with nothing left to lose and a heart full of curiosity, I decided to give it a shot. I took a leap of faith, using my savings to snag a kiln and some molds from a Facebook listing. It felt like stepping into a whole new world!
Let me tell you, the moment I touched that clay, something shifted. It was like rediscovering a part of myself that had been lost in the hustle. Creating beautiful pieces with my own hands brought a sense of joy and fulfillment I hadn't felt in ages.
But wait, it gets better! What started as a hobby quickly turned into something more. I began to see the potential to turn my newfound passion into an income. The journey from burnt-out professional to a budding ceramic artist has been nothing short of thrilling.
Join me on this exciting adventure as I share the highs, the lows, and everything in between. From my first awkward pottery attempts to the thrill of selling my creations, I can’t wait to take you along for the ride!
Stay tuned for more updates, tips, and a behind-the-scenes look at how ceramics is turning my life around. Who knows? Maybe it’ll inspire you to find your own creative outlet too!
Happy creating,
Trissa
I remember as a young girl my grandmother taking me to a local small town ceramic shop. As an adult I became a registered nurse, like my mother and grandmother. I want to be able to provide that place for my community, a shop where grandmothers can bring their granddaughters and a safe place everyone can relieve stress of everyday life.
Being a registered nurse is a high intensity job on your feet for hours, making split-second decisions, and dealing with a constant whirlwind. That’s been my life as a registered nurse—amazing but incredibly demanding and I decided to release stress by being creative.
I hope to eventually open a storefront for local customers and offer classes. My hope is to foster creativity within the community by facilitating personal art projects and promoting mental wellness.
Being creative whether it’s painting, sculpting, or crafting, 45 minutes of creative activity can reduce your stress. Channeling my energy into something artistic has been like hitting a reset button. It’s been all about finding joy in the process and rediscovering that spark of creativity.
